Arena Balance Summary
- The Elo K 5 system was too restrictive, making it unfair for higher-level players to properly compete as they have a much more restrictive pool of players.
- The Elo K 10 system with Upset Bonus became too advantageous for higher-level players against the rest of the pool.
- We are now running Elo K 10 with the old floor, without Upset Bonus. Hopefully this creates a more balanced Arena that feels fairer for everyone.
The Elo K 10 system, which was implemented mid-week, will remain in place for now.
Because the Upset Bonus heavily distorted point gains and losses, there has not been a clear enough indication yet on whether the K 10 system itself is producing fairer results. Keeping it active without the Upset Bonus will give us a cleaner and more accurate view of how Arena ranking performs going forward.
